I have a ginko with curled leaves as well. The leaves are fine when they first come on, but then curl. My lilac is doing the same thing. One nursery man told me that it could be from overwatering. My topsoil is fine, but there is lots of rock below it and one large area of my yard is pretty soggy. Does the too much water make sense to you?

Over and under watering can cause plants to curl their leaves, as does changes in the weather as already noted in this thread. If more that a single species of plants are impacted, then this is perhaps more enviornmental. Lots of water early, then droughty, strong changes in the weather pattern, etc. Poorly developed root systems will also cause curling leaves.
