We have an Arborvitae hedge that is being damaged by squirrels. They rip the branches from the trunk, which we find at the base of the trees. One of the trees is completely bare in one are and it looks as thought they are starting on the neighboring tree. What can be done to repel them?

I contacted an Illinois Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Biologist about your question. He suggested that you hire a nuisance wildlife control operator to remove the squirrels. The squirrels may be removing the vegetation for nesting material.
