My magnolia has been growing over the past 9 years and is now about 14 feet in height. I went to cut back lower branches this weekend and found severe scale infestation. I cut back many lower branches, making it much more open, is there anything I can do now so that I don't loose it?

Hi,

Magnolia scale is best treated when the crawlers are present. Sprays are most effective when applied in Late September of very early spring just as the buds are opening. Use materials such as acephate, Bayer tree and shrub insect control, insectaicidal soap or summer oil spray.
