I have a 10 acre wooded lot with a heavy infestation of mature Asian Bush Honeysuckle in the understory.

To get it under control I have heard the recommended treatment is to spray a solution of 2% Glyphosate on the leaves of bushes under 4 feet tall, and 20% Glyphosate treatment on the cut stumps of bushes over 4 feet.

Do you have any other suggestions ?

Foliar: 1.5 - 2.0% glyphosate + nonionic surfactant

Cut Stump: 17-20% triclopyr BEE + basal oil solution.

Basal Bark: 17-20% triclopyr BEE + basal oil solution.

If you have a tractor or 4x4 or 4 wheeler, this is most environmentally sound way of dealing with the bush.

I respectfully disagree as "stump pulling" larger diameter woody invasive shrubs disturbs a lot of soil and thus creates additional, disturbed habitat for recolonization by weeds and invasive species.

Therefore, I believe the judicious use of registered pesticides is more environmentally sound compared to stump pulling and associated soil disturbance.
