Red maple, like other maples (Acer spp.), is susceptible to verticillium wilt. Therefore, there is always the "possibility" other maple trees in your yard may become infected by this soil borne fungi. Obviously, it is impossible to state with absolute certainly whether these young maples will also become infected by verticillium wilt -- only time will tell.
