The plant I am taking care of wraps around like a U with plant close to the dirt having no leaves for a good 4 to 6 ins. There are babies as well. I read how sept the babies from the mother plant but how can transplant the mother plant into a bigger pot?

Hi,

i am guessing you are talking about an aloe vera plant? If so the side shoots or offsets can be carefully cut away from the central plant. Some may have roots some may not. In either case repot using good potting media and don't water for a week or so. After that water and then keep the soil on the dry side in order for the offsets to root. As far as the main plant, repot into the next size larger pot using potting media, don't water initially and then water but keep the soil on the dry side. Place plants in as bright a location as possible for best growth.
