Can basil be harvested all season or does the taste/integrity of the herb change as the plant matures. My end of summer basil seems to taste different than the first harvest. Is it still okay to use in cooking and to make pesto?

Hi,
The best tasting basil comes from plants that are young and vigorous growing. As they age they tend to produce smaller leaves tht are still ok to use in cooking it just may not have as good a flavor.
