How do we kill powder post beetles that are in the logs we burn in our stove? The logs stacked and ready to burn. Thank you

Hi,

if you are using the logs to burn in a fireplace or stove I really don't recommend any type of chemical treatment as that would result in potential toxins being released into the interior space. If the wood was being used for contruction purposes the wood would be treated by painting or spraying with some type of varnish to prevent reentry. Here that is not an option. I suggest keeping the wood outdoors until ready to burn and bring in only what you will use.
