Yellowjackets had a nest in our garden. I waited to dig out the nest until fall ( it was like a honeycomb about 1 ft by 1 1/2 ft). Since that time nothing will grow in that section of our garden. Even plantings die. Is there something that the soil needs?? Thank you for your time and help!

Hi, I don't know of anything that might have been produced by the insects that would cause plant material to not grow in that site. The only thing I can suggest is that after removing the nest that you make sure yo work in ample amounts of organic matter(compost, peat, manure etc.) in the entire area to improve the soil and make sure drainage is good.
