We recently purchased a new home which has a wonderful garden. In our backyard we have two annabelles which just in the past 3 weeks have started to show signs of wanting to flower. We now have green young flowers which measure about 2-3in in diameter. I have read that they start out green, then turn white, then eventually a beautiful lime green. My question is, at the rate we are, when will I have them lime green? I am planning on using them for our wedding - green is our color and judging by the number of little blooms, we will have more than 100 caps of these annabelles. Do you know if we will have them green in the first half of August? Also, 3 weeks ago I planted calla lillies. They are still underground, when the oriental lillies and other bulbs we planted are already up. Should I give up on the callas at this point or are they slow to come out? Thanks so much for your answers in advance! Tina

Hi,

Hydrangea whold start to turn white sometime around the mid august or so. That means they probably would be green sometime in July so you may miss your window. Calla does take a bit longer to come up so unless they have rotten I might give them a bit more time.
