allium transplanting

A big patch of allium has been expanding for a few years. I want to reduce the size and thin the patch. Everywhere they say to plant in the fall. Can I dig up now and plant elsewhere? I have done that with other bulbs and they have done well. the allium have died down

Hi, if the bulbs have died back I don't see any reason why yo ucould not move them now as they are basically dormant and moving will not hurt them.
