I have noticed white webs about 6-8 inches in diameter on my lawn; also, on the base of our lilac bushes and clematis. Can you tell me what it might be, and what to do about them?

Hi,
Webs can be the result of any number of often harmless spiders. I would say that if you are not seeing any type of plant damage i would not worry about the webs and nothing needs to be done.
