In the fall of 2010 i had a tree taken down by the city. It was in the front of my house(between sidewalk & the street.Last summer I had no roots coming to the surface but starting this summer i am getting tree branches/roots appearing all over my front lawn. Is there anything that I can do to stop this from happening. Thank you for any help

Hi, the shoots are coming from the roots that are still in the ground from dormant buds on the roots. the only way to prevent this is to either dig and remove as much of the root as possible or have them ground out.
