Grass (ressembling red fescue) is invading the rocky terrain around our cabin. This environment encourages ticks. How can i get rid of this grass? I have tried spraying vinegar and even roundup as well as pulling out the seed stems in late summer, but this does not really keep the grass down. Thank you

You should have the grass plant identified by local extension or a reputable garden center. Knowing for sure what the weed is will allow you proper control. The weed is behaving like a perennial which can have an extensive root system, making it harder to control and why even if you pick off the seeds, it continues to spread. treatments for a perennial plant is different than one that is annual. any treatment needs to be applied while the weed is weak and most vulnerable. This might me right after it flowers or when it has just put on lots of new growth for the season. Perennial weeds will often require more that one application.
