Herbicide Resistant Waterhemp

Posted by Robert Bellm -

It would appear that even university research centers are not immune from having to deal with herbicide resistant waterhemp. The waterhemp plant pictured above was sprayed postemergence when less than 2 inches tall with the full rate of a diphenyl-ether herbicide, using the appropriate adjuvants. As can be observed, the plant was injured but is now beginning to recover. This is just another reminder of the importance of soil-applied residual herbicide applications when dealing with this herbicide resistant biotype.
