Special Interest Clubs

Whether your passion is sailing, robotics, theater or whatever….
SPIN (Special Interest) Clubs offer a new way for you to share your skills and knowledge with youth in your community.  Spin Clubs focus on a single topic.  They’re a great way to introduce kids ages 8-18 to a specific hobby or interest they might not otherwise have a chance to develop.
All it takes to start a SPIN Club is one or more caring and knowledgeable adult...at least 5 young people with an interest in the topic…and a willingness to meet as a club at least 6 times over the course of a year.  SPIN Clubs meet whenever and wherever they want.
Through their SPIN Club experiences, kids develop a sense of belonging, independence, generosity and mastery – and most of all, they have fun learning new skills!
Recently youth from Jefferson County were surveyed to see which topics they were interested in learning about and the top 10 follow:
Robotics    Archery        Science        Art        Animals/Wildlife/Camping/Fishing
Video Making        Woodworking        Welding    Health        Butterflies/Bugs

So if you are interested in leading or joining a 4-H SPIN Club let us know!!!  We would love to have you as a part of  our organization!!!
