Marshall-Putnam Master Gardeners to hold Q & A sessions

      

        Now is the time to learn to garden or have gardening questions answered at a location close to you. The University of Illinois Extension Marshall Putnam Master Gardeners are presenting the “Seeds to Harvest” demonstrations plus a panel of experts to answer your gardening questions. The demonstrations will touch on the basics of starting seeds, container gardening, raised beds, weed control, and composting. In addition, a panel of Marshall Putnam U of I Extension Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions from the public. These experienced Gardeners are offering this program free of charge to promote healthy eating and the joys of gardening. 

        To reach all Marshall and Putnam residents the Master Gardeners are presenting these programs in many communities in the counties. Seeds to Harvest presentations are open to everyone in the community. It is offered in several community libraries across our counties. You can bring a friend along. The list of communities and times are as follows. Thursday March 9 in Hennepin, Putnam County Library starting at 7:00; Tuesday, March 14 in the Magnolia Putnam County Library 6:00; Putnam, Putnam County Library Saturday March 18, 10:00; McNabb, Putnam County Library Saturday, March 25, 10:00; Henry Library, Tuesday, March 28 at 6:30, Wenona Bi-Centennial Building Tuesday, April 4  at 6:30; and Lacon’s date to be set. In Toluca, the Master Gardeners will be teaching an after-school program on Tuesday April 11.
