Breakfast with the Easter Bunny & Easter Egg Hunt

The 2017 Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Henry was Saturday, April 15. Over 350 people attended this event sponsored by Henry Community Character Counts! and U of I Extension. Doors opened at 9:15am for the “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” in the Henry Senachwine Grade School lunchroom with Kevin & Gretchen Hallen hosting. Mary Jane Thornton took photos of the children with the bunny. Free pictures taken with the Bunny are available at Doc's Drug this week for pickup. Crafts and games took place in the grade school gym. The HCCC! Puppet group entertained the crowd with the “Happy” song. A surprise visit from a Minion joined them. The puppets also performed to “Can't Stop the Feeling” song in which the audience joined in dancing.

Each child received a treat bag as they left the school at 10:00am to follow the Easter Bunny to Stoner Park for the Easter Egg Hunt.  Over 2000 eggs were hidden.

Team Kid's “Eggs for a Cure” had a booth set up to sale eggs for prizes with proceeds going to the Relay for Life.  They also had a bake sale. Susan Glassman from the University of Extension also taught those in attendance how to know if the eggs are fresh.

Winners from the Easter coloring contest are in LaPrairie Mutual’s window. All pictures entered in the contest will be in the downtown business windows.
