University of Illinois recognizes Marshall-Putnam Extension staff

University of Illinois recognizes Marshall-Putnam Extension staff at an all staff meeting for their years of service.

Julie Read received her fifteen-year certificate and a key chain.  Mrs. Read, as the many students of Marshall and Putnam schools know her, has been educating our youth with the Ag In the Classroom program, which seeks to improve agricultural literacy — awareness, knowledge, and appreciation — among PreK-12 teachers and their students.  She teaches the students about where their food and clothes come from, using many fun and exciting projects and activities.  As well as providing embryology to many class rooms.  Julie is also an intricate part of “ImAGination Acres” at the Marshall-Putnam county fair.

Marilyn Smith received her five-year certificate.  Marilyn provides office support to the Marshall-Putnam office. She keeps the office running smoothly.  If Marilyn does not know the answer to a question, she will find it for you.

Anne Scheel also received her five-year certificate.  Anne is the 4-H and Youth Development Program Coordinator for University of Illinois Extension, Marshall-Putnam. 4-H is the largest out of school program for youth ages 8-18. Along with coordinating the 4-H Show, traditional 4-H clubs and many special interest clubs, Anne also brings 4-H to our counties’ schools with Lettuce Bed Gardens, Health Rocks, and Polite is Right.

Congratulation to these women.
