Going and doing presentations is one of my favorite things about Ag in the Classroom. Today I got to spend the day with the Iroquois West Kindergarten classes. Today is their 100th day of school. We put an agriculture spin on their 100 day activities.
We read the book "Extra Cheese Please" and learned how cheese gets from the cow to their pizza. Ice cream is another great food made from milk so we made paper ice cream sundaes with 100 scoops of ice cream. Our sundaes were taller than Mrs. Chandler!!
We also learn that corn is part of a cow's diet. Cows need to eat the right foods too in order to be able to producer milk. Each student got a bag with 100 corn kernels in it. They used the 100 kernels to make a picture on a piece of paper. It was a GREAT time!!
If you are interested in having a presentation for your class on a specific topic please call the Extension office at 815-268-4051 and ask for Aimee.
