On April 30, 2010 we celebrate Arbor Day. Arbor Day is a nationally celebrated day. J. Sterling Morton from Detroit proposed a tree planting holiday called Arbor Day in 1872. It was named a legal holiday in 1885.
Learn more about Arbor Day by visiting The Arbor Day Foundation at http://www.arborday.org/index.cfm.
Celebrate Arbor Day by having a tree trivia contest, taking a hike, read a book about trees, volunteer at a local park, make a paper tree, or even plant a tree!

Ford-Iroquois Ag in the Classroom would like to say a big thank you to the Ford-Iroquois Pork Producers for donating money to put the Pigs on the Farm kit together. Thanks to their generous donation we will be assembling this kit with great books, videos and other great resources to go along with the curriculum we received in February.
Watch for this kit and others to be available this fall to schools.
