CHRISTIAN COUNTY MAKER GIRL 3-D PRINTING WORKSHOP
Friday June 3rd 2:00-3:30 PM Carnegie—Schulyer Library— 303 East 2nd Street Pana, IL

MakerGirl brings 3D printing, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) to life for girls to start creating anything they want in their lives. MakerGirl sessions are for girls aged 7-10. All sessions teach young girls 3D printing, while also teaching them about women leaders in STEM fields, innovative companies, cutting edge technology, and much more.

CHRISTIAN COUNTY SUMMER AG INSTITUTE
June 16-17, 2016

Since 1991, more than 10,049 Illinois educators have completed a Summer Agricultural Institute! The course is designed for PreSchool-High School educators who wish to expand their curriculum to include topics related to agriculture – the world’s food and fiber system. The course focuses on how to integrate available resources and hands-on activities about agriculture and the environment into an existing classroom curriculum.
Attendance both days will get you 10 Continuing Education Credits or CPDUs.

4-H Entrepreneur Digital Fabrication Camp
Participants learn about starting a business, design a product with computer aided drafting, and 3D print their own product.Open to youth going into grades 6-9.
This year Unit 18 will host very unique entrepreneur camps for kids in Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, & Montgomery counties featuring 3-D printers. • Participants will imagine a product• Create a business plan• Design a product using Computer Aided Drafting• Market & present the idea and record a commercial• And 3-D Print their product The camp will be held at the Farm Credit building and runs June 14-16 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. It’s open to students grades 6-9th. Students do not have to be enrolled in 4-H to participate in this camp.

CHRISTIAN COUNTY 4-H: Lego We-Do Robotics - Ages 6-9
Christian County 4-H is offering a Lego We-Do workshop for youth (ages 6-9) on Monday, June 6 at the Christian County Extension office, 1120 N. Webster St., in Taylorville, IL. The cost of the workshop is $5. Youth will explore engineering, technolgoy and coding as they create, build and program their robot.
Participants can choose between two sessions:
#1 is from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
OR
#2 is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

CHRISTIAN COUNTY 4-H: Sr. Science Camp - for ages 10 - 13
4-H Sr. Science Camp for youth ages 10-13 will be held June 7, 8 and 9 at the Christian County Extension office, 1120 N. Webster St., Taylorville, IL. The sessions will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Youth will participate in hands-on activities that include chemistry, engineering, forensics and so much more. The cost for camp is $25 and includes a camp t-shirt.

TAYLORVILLE: Yes! You Can: Preserving Practice-Jams and Jellies
at the Christian County Extension Office (1120 N Webster St. Taylorville, IL 62568) from 9:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, August 13th.

This hands-on program will focus on preparing jams, jellies and preserves. You’ll have the opportunity to review the basics of home canning, receive the latest safety guidelines, and practice hands-on canning in the kitchen! You’ll receive a binder of resources and recipes, as well as jars of the products you prepare in class to take home and enjoy. Class size is limited so register now!
