Today's Features

University of Illinois Extension Macoupin County Master Gardeners will hold their Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 25. This event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Macoupin County Historical Society Spring Festival, 920 W. Breckenridge, Carlinville. The sale will be located at the east side of the Historical Society grounds next to the red barn and windmill. A new event for 2013 will be the 'Little Sprouts' Kids Corner-Flowers & Seeds. Bring the kids to learn how to pot a plant and take home flower seeds for their garden. There will also be information available on how to control invasive plants. We are offering a variety of plants including sun perennials, shade perennials, native plants, thornless blackberry and raspberry plants, herbs, and many more. Plants are priced from $2 to $5, shop early for the best selection! All plants are grown with tender loving care by Master Gardeners to ensure that you take home healthy plants. Master Gardeners will be there to answer all your gardening questions and provide helpful information about the planting and care of the plants you purchase. We will accept cash or checks only, please. You'll want to buy lots of plants! It will be a fun day, and we hope to see you there! Proceeds from this sale benefit University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener community programs in Macoupin County. Questions call 217-854-9604.

The Christian County Garden Walk will be held Rain or Shine Saturday June 15th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Tickets will be $8 in advance or $10 on June 15. Tickets can be purchased at the Christian County Extension office. This year's Garden Walk will feature seven gardens in the communities of Morrisonville and western Taylorville.
