Heart Healthy Eating Series Coming To Carlinville Area Hospital
February 10, 2016
Planning, shopping and cooking for someone with heart disease can be a real challenge. To help meet this challenge, University of Illinois Extension in collaboration with Carlinville Area Hospital, will offer a program called Meals for a Healthy Heart.
Meals for a Healthy Heart is a series of two 2 - 2 ½ hour sessions designed for anyone interested in preventing or managing heart disease. In each session participants receive recipes, watch cooking demonstrations, taste foods to meet their dietary needs, receive blood pressure screenings and learn about proper diet and exercise to better care for their health.
Meals for a Healthy Heart aim to improve your overall wellbeing. The program is meant to compliment the recommendations of your health care provider and to help you and/or your loved one manage heart disease.
Meals for a Healthy Heart will meet on Thursdays, February 18th and 25th from 5:30pm until 7:30pm in the Carlinville Area Hospital Office Medical Building Community Room in Carlinville, IL.
There is a $15.00 fee which will covers both sessions. This fee is for the purchase of food and supplies. No products will be sold at the classes. Those interested in attending can register by calling the Macoupin County Extension Office at 217-854-9604 or online at http://web.extension.illinois.edu/cjmm/. Participants are asked to pre-register by February 16, as space is limited.
