Livestock Judging is Returning to Christian County 4-H
February 18, 2016
Livestock Judging is returning to the Christian County 4-H program. Over 30 4-H members and their parents attended the first 4-H Livestock Judging Clinic held Tuesday February 16 to learn more about 4-H livestock judging. Members will compete for the first time at the 2016 Beef Expo on February 27, 2016. “Livestock judging can open up a lot of opportunity for members by building personal character and confidence.” said Christian County 4-H Program Coordinator Alicia Gullidge.
Livestock judging is when a participant carefully analyzes an animal’s individual traits, and then compares it against ideal or optimum standards for the species. Any youth interested in livestock judging must be a 4-H member; however it is not too late to enroll, with the deadline being April 15.
To participate or for more information please contact Alicia Gullidge, 4-H Program Coordinator, at the Christian County Extension office in Taylorville at 217-287-7246 or via email at: email@example.com or online at: http://web.extension.illinois.edu/cjmm/christian4h/.
