University of Illinois Extension and Montgomery County Pheasants Forever are pleased to announce the winners of the Wildlife and Habitat Art Contest and Digital Image Contest. The local area youth art contest is for youth enrolled in grades 7-12 in public, private or home school. The Awards Ceremony will be held on August 20, 2016 at the Montgomery County Pheasants Forever banquet.
The contest offers an opportunity for area youth to submit entries depicting area wildlife and habitat. Over 100 entries were submitted from around Montgomery County. Entries were judged on technique, composition, and impact while displaying habitat and wildlife found in Montgomery County. The top three entries in each category received awards. The winners in the Junior Art Category are Blake McGill (1st), Kaden Reynolds (2nd) and Erin Kistner (3rd). The Senior Art Division winners are Brittany Komor (1st), Tiffany Anglin (2nd) and Andy Towner (3rd). The Digital Image Junior Division winners are Erin Kistner (1st) and Layne Burnside (2nd). The Digital Image Senior Division winners are Sydney Lawrence (1st) and Stephanie Perun (2nd).
Each winner is invited to attend the Montgomery County Pheasants Forever banquet on August 20, 2016 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, in Taylor Springs. The winners will receive a prize, ribbon, and their artwork will be displayed. Contact Mark Reitz at (217) 622-6128 with questions concerning the Pheasants Forever banquet.
