Sew Much Fun with Fashion during the 4-H Clothing Show

Macoupin County 4-H members displayed their sewing and purchasing skills at the annual 4-H Clothing Show and Fashion Revue. The Clothing Show & Fashion Revue was held at the University of Illinois Extension office in Carlinville on Monday, June 26. Marti Benning of Raymond served as Clothing Show judge for this event.
4-H members had the choice of constructing a sewing project or purchasing a garment. 4-H members who participated in this show were: Saralynn Joiner, Cara Winningham, Rachel Leggett, Garrett Comerford, Lexie Casey, Chloe Velasquez, and Alexia Mosby of Carlinville; Ella Clevenger of Hettick, Addison Earley of Girard; Logan Helling, Sophie Rull, Lillian Burris of Bunker Hill; Ariana Coan of Staunton; and Rachel Wolff of Shipman.
Several top awards were given during this year’s 4-H Clothing Show. Top Construction awards went to Saralynn Joiner and Alexia Mosby. Best Buying awards were awarded to Ariana Coan and Lillian Burris.
State Fair Delegates selected for Sewing and Textiles Construction were Saralynn Joiner, Garrett Comerford, and for Shopping in Style was Ariana Coan. State Fair Alternates selected were Alexia Mosby, Sophie Rull, Logan Helling, and Addison Earley.
Following the judging of the purchased or constructed projects, a Fashion Revue provided members an opportunity to compete for modeling awards which focused on how well they modeled their project. Trophies were awarded to Lexie Casey, Saralynn Joiner, and Rachel Wolff.
Members eligible to represent Macoupin County at the Illinois State Fair on August 11 in the category of Fashion Revue are as follows: Lexie Casey, Sophie Rull, and Rachel Wolff with their purchased items. State Fair alternates selected were: Lohan Helling, Lillian Burris, Saralynn Joiner, and Ariana Coan.
Trophies and Special Awards for the Clothing show were donated by Macoupin County HCE, Mary Jane Thomas of Carlinville, and Tammy Yotter of Bunker Hill.
