Jersey County 4-H General Show Winners
July 18, 2017
4-H General Show Winners
Jersey County 4-H members will be converging on the Illinois State Fair on Saturday, August 11 to compete with their general projects. At this summer’s General Projects Show in Jerseyville delegates were chosen in a variety of projects. 4-H members are allowed to take only one general project to State Fair. If a 4-H’er is chosen as a delegate in more than one project, they must choose only one to take to state fair.
4-H members are judged by a process called conference judging. This process allows the 4-H members to answer questions asked by the judges pertaining to the projects. The questions are asked to help the judge find out how much the 4-H member learned while doing the project. The 4-H program would like to thank the following judges for helping out with the General Show: Jack Stork and Elizabeth Schwab of Jerseyville, and Mary Thompson and Judy Scheffel of Jerseyville, Judy Meisner of Jerseyville and Carol Moore of Medora. We would also like to thank the congregation of the 1st United Methodist Church for sharing their beautiful facilities.
Trophies are awarded in selected project areas. 4-H members, 8 and older, who exhibit excellent projects are chosen to exhibit their outstanding projects at the Illinois State Fair.
Jersey County 4-H members who received a General Show awards or State Fair are:
General Show Best of Show Awards and Trophies

Best of Show Visual Arts
STATE FAIR DELEGATES
