Macoupin County 4-H Kids-n-Culture Camp enhances cultural awareness

The University of Illinois Extension-Macoupin County 4-H program offered a one day Kids-n-Culture Camp on July 19 at the Extension Office in Carlinville. Youth learned about customs, cultures, and geography of Costa Rica and South Korea during their adventure. Guest speakers were invited to share their knowledge and cultural experiences with the group. Elisha Hughes of Hillsboro was on hand to share with the group about the South Korean culture and her experiences traveling abroad. She brought in some traditional items, pictures, decorations and foods to share with youth.  Lydia Fulton of Worden prepared much fun for the kids to teach them about Costa Rica and her time spent their through the 4-H Exchange program.  During this program, youth created cultural art projects, played games, and tried ethnic foods.
