OrganWise Guys Keeping Kids Healthy
September 28, 2017
NOKOMIS, Ill. –University of Illinois Extension presented an introduction class entitled “The OrganWise Guys” to classes at Nokomis North Elementary. The program is a fun and interactive way to engage students in nutrition education and physical activity. The students were taught about healthy eating using plush character organs of the human body. Students learned the importance of each organ and how to keep their organs healthy. The students even learned a song to remind them to make healthy food choices, drink plenty of water and exercise.
The program is coordinated by Crystal Carpani, Montgomery County Community Worker, SNAP-ED. Programming is possible due to the University of Illinois Extension, Montgomery County office.
