LITCHFIELD – Join University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners and garden enthusiasts for the All Gardener’s Day on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 8 a.m. to noon at Holy Family Catholic Church – Parish Center in Litchfield. This half-day long event will be filled with valuable gardening and landscaping information for everyone to enjoy.
The sessions this year will include: “Tools of the Trade” by Horticulturist, Abby Dillion. A day in the life of a home gardener would feature quite a list of requisite tools. “Helping Your Trees Survive a Changing World” by Trees Forever field coordinator, Barb Grabner-Kerns. Communities and homeowners face increasing challenges to growing healthy trees. From more extreme weather to increased invasive pests, our trees are subject to more and new threats. Barb will talk about how species selection and proper tree care can help keep the urban forest healthier.
