University of Illinois Extension Presents: Everything You’ve Always Wanted to Know about Eggs
March 7, 2018
HILLSBORO, Ill. – Once upon a time, shelves in the grocery stores were filled with different size eggs, but not a lot of variety otherwise. Shopping for eggs is not that simple anymore! Today, eggs can also be purchased at farmers markets or straight from the farm and are available in many varieties. To help the public learn more about eggs, University of Illinois Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator, Lisa Peterson will host a lesson on Eggs: From Farm to Fork. This lesson will review organic, free range, lower cholesterol, and other varieties of eggs. Peterson intends to provide consumers with the knowledge to make well-informed decisions when purchasing eggs and will distribute information on how to keep eggs safe from farm to fork.
This class will be held at the Montgomery County Extension Office (#1 Industrial Park Drive, Hillsboro) on March 26th. Come join in the festive fun and have an EGGcellent time learning all about eggs, receive a recipe book, and sample some EGGciting recipes!
The program is offered at no cost, but registration is required. Registration can be done by calling the Montgomery County Extension Office or online at http://web.extension.illinois.edu/cjmm/.
