University of Illinois Extension trains volunteer Master Gardeners to help individuals and communities, “Learn to Grow.”  They participate in over sixty hours of classroom training and serve a 60 hour internship to become certified.  Each year they volunteer and take additional training to remain certified.  Over 600 volunteer Master Gardeners are active in Cook County.   If you would like to know more about the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener program in Cook County go to: http://web.extension.illinois.edu/cook/hort.html
