Thank You! Cook County Jail Master Gardeners

Posted by Ron Wolford -

On June 5, the Cook County Sheriff's Garden was planted with over 1,000 flower and vegetable transplants. Vegetables planted included tomatoes, peppers, squash, cabbage, collards, cucumbers and eggplant. We want to thank Master Gardeners Nancy and Mike Block, Cynthia Stepanek and Tom Staniszewski for assisting the Department of Community Supervision and Intervention detainees with the planting. Master Gardeners Melody Geraci, Nancy Benjamin, Dan Lynch and Sharon Saunders will also be volunteering at the garden this growing season.
