The University of Illinois Extension provides programs that are aimed at making life better, healthier, safer and more profitable for individuals and their communities. This series of one-day professional development conferences has been designed especially to meet the needs of professionals that work with youth, adults, and families with limited resources.   • Nutrition and Wellness
  • Urban Horticulture and Natural Resources

These workshops will provide participants with some of the latest research based information and resources as related to the above program areas. The workshops in this series are suitable for program directors, administrators, social workers, staff, and volunteers of social service organizations, elementary and secondary schools, youth centers, shelters, faith based organizations, and other community based organizations that provide direct services to youth, adults and families.

As a result of attending this conference participants will:

  • Learn essential information and skills relevant to working with limited resource populations
  • Learn practical, easy-to-use activities that will enhance their work with limited resource populations
  • Increase their awareness of curricula, trainings and other resources offered by University of Illinois Extension professionals

University of Illinois Extension has been approved to provide professional development credits from:

  • Illinois Department of Professional Regulations
  • Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)

In order to receive continuing education credits, additional fees apply. Conference attendees must be present for the entire day in order to receive certification. A total of 4.5 credit hours will be awarded for each full day of attendance.
