Cook County Extension was an active partner in the City of Chicago's Going Green display at the Taste of Chicago. This area provided ideas on a more environmentally sound lifestyle. Eighty Master Gardeners manned the display's exhibits throughout the ten day run of the Taste and answered gardening questions. Cook County Extension displayed compost bins, worm bins and a rain garden. Twelve water conserving earthboxes were planted with flowers and vegetables. Several Cook County educators presented workshops at the Going Green tent.
