You have a plant growing somewhere and you don’t know what it is. It may be pretty or it may be over-running an area. What is it and what can or should you do about it?
If you decide to bring it in to your local University of Illinois Extension Office, bring in as much as possible.
Please bring in a live plant.
When possible dig up a whole plant with roots.
If it is potentially a plant you may want to keep, bring in a branch or shoot that includes stems, leaves and flowers (if present).
Wrap the roots in dry paper towels and gently put sample into an unsealed plastic bag or sack.
