This year 27 Kendall County 4-H'ers exhibited 4-H projects at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield August 14. Exhibitors received an Award of Excellence for showing at the State Fair and a superior rating was given if the project exceeded the requirements.

Many Kendall County 4-H Youth Horse project members participated in the State Horse Show and were listed in the Kendall County Record.
In the Jr. Beef Show Hannah Winters; Algonquin, Lisbon Town and Country 4-H Club placed first for her Angus Steer; second for her Simmental Steer and AOB Heifer. Winters also placed first for her Angus Steer in the Land of Lincoln category. Gene Hamman, Newark of Millbrook Mighty Ones 4-H Club took third for his Angus Steer and Second in Land of Lincoln category.
Emily Johnson, Sandwich of Barnstormers 4-H Club won more ribbons than all the other Kendall County
4-H members competing in the state Fair in Springfield. In the Jr. Sheep Contest she won Southdown Champion Ewe and Champion Ram Lamb in the Jr. Sheep Show. For Southdown Ewe Lamb, first; Ram Lamb, first; Reserve Champion Ewe, Yearling Ewe First and Second, In the On-Foot Wethers Category, Johnson won Champion Southdown Wether, Southdown Wether, First and Second; Crossbred Wether Third, and she received the award for Reserve Champion Southdown Wether.
In the Land of Lincoln Jr. Sheep Show, Johnson won Southdown Champion Ewe and Champion Ram Lamb; Ewe Lamb, First; Ram Lamb, First and Third; Reserve Champion Ewe; Yearling Ewe, First and Second. For the On-Foot Wethers Johnson won Champion Southdown Wether and Reserve Champion Southdown Wether; Southdown Wether first and second.
Tyler Perkins, Millbrook of Kendall County Country Kids 4-H Club placed second for his Duroc in the Jr. Crossbred Barrow Show and second in the land of Lincoln Jr. Duroc Barrow Show. He placed third in the Land of Lincoln Jr. Duroc gilt category.
For the Junior Meat Goat Show Justice Prestegaard, Millbrook, of the Barnstormers 4-H Club placed third for his Junior Meat Goat Wether and in the Light Weight category and for Medium Weight, Second.
