If anyone knows of a great 4-H volunteer and would want to nominate their 4-H Leader for Salute to Excellence, the deadline is September 26. Kim will have all the information needed to write up a nomination form. This year we are honoring Karol Bundy for her 4-H years of being a leader, her years as Fairboard member and Horse Superintendent. Tammy Brigel won the Salute to Excellence volunteer from the State of Illinois, after being the selected as a North East Region Volunteer.
Tammy Brigel is an eight year leader of the Renegades, Rebels, and Rogue 4-H club in Oswego. She is a dedicated and hard-working leader, promoting community service and educational activities to her 4-H club members. Tammy serves as a member of the Kendall County Horse Committee and the International Night Committee as well as a 4-H Federation leader. She provides ideas, supplies and equipment for horse activities.
Tammy's club is very active in most Kendall county events such as Achievement Night, Bowl-A-Thon, International Night, Pork Chop Dinner,
4-H Exchange, and her youth often serve as Holiday Workshop leaders. Her club also takes Passport to the World as a group project. Tammy encourages parents to get involved and many families volunteer to take responsibility for club activities thus teaching responsibility, planning, and mastery. Tammy is an excellent example of an effective 4-H leader.
