Kirby's Kitchen - Vegan & Vegetarian Diets

Kirby’s Kitchen Covers the Nutrient Gap Vegetarian Diets Can Leave

There are many types of vegetarian and vegan diets, but they have one thing in common. Removing animal based foods can leave a nutritional gap. Learn about ways to modify and prepare vegetarian and vegan diets that meet your nutritional needs with the University of Illinois Extension Kirby’s Kitchen Vegetarian & Vegan Diets class from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 7. Take home tasty recipes and watch an in-class cooking demonstration. The class will take place at the Apple-A-Day Café inside Kirby Medical Center, 1000 Medical Drive in Monticello, IL.

Register by November 30 online at go.illinois.edu/dmp or by calling the Piatt County Extension office at 217.762.2191. Participants will be charged a small fee to cover program costs.

From general healthy eating to eating for your personal health needs, let Kirby’s Kitchen help you create simple, nutritious and healthy meals at home. Watch food demonstrations get some new recipes and taste delicious meals tailored to you by Caitlin Huth, Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator.
