Hoof it to Extension for Horse Play Summer Program

Giddy-up and go this summer with Horsing Around a fun 4-H club introducing young horse lovers to the basics of equine care. University of Illinois Extension is providing this beginner’s clinic in Macon County for anyone interested in hands-on learning about horses. Over three weeks, participants will learn the ins and outs of horse care, proper grooming techniques and riding fundamentals.

The club will take place Monday mornings 9 to 11 a.m. on June 5, 12 and 19 at a private residence in Decatur near Richland Community College. The address will be made available when participants sign up. Register by June 1 online at The program costs $15 for 4-H members and $20 for non-members. The 4-H program is provided through University of Illinois Extension and is open to youth ages 8 to 18. Youth learn skills for living by participating in individual or group learning experiences related to more than 200 project areas.
