Sara Marten is the Youth Development Educator for Unit 26. She is based at the Williamson County Extension Office, but works in all five counties in the unit. She is responsible for providing leadership to the 4-H program in each county of the unit. Sara also develops and delivers issue-based programming to youth that align with both state and local needs. Working with the community is a large part of Sara's role at extension. Through the 4-H program, Sara and Program Coordinators area always reaching out an dpartnering with the community to help host and assist with numerous workshops/learning opportunities. 4-H helps youth and their families engage in their communities. A few programs Sara has organized include: Welcome to the Real World, Skills to Pay the Bills, Health Rocks and Breaking the Code.
"No two days are the same, and I love that! The variety and flexibility with each days keeps me engaged and excited about the work I'm doing," says Sara.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, baking and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
