Williamson County 4-H

Ever wondered what the four H's in 4‑H stand for? The four H's in 4-H stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. Youth ages 5-18 have an opportunity to expand their life skills through many different community youth programs.

All Community 4-H Youth Development Programs are easy to join, have no uniforms, led by screened adult volunteers, and have available a 4-H activity newsletter. Youth may join anytime of the 4-H year September 1st - August 31st. It you farm or raise animals that's great but it is not necessary to join 4-H!

What is a Community 4-H Cloverbud Group? 4‑H Cloverbud Groups are for boys and girls ages 5 ‑ 7 years old by September 1st. Youth may join an existing group or start a new group.

What will youth do in 4-H Cloverbud Group? Youth get to have lots of fun with cloverbud group activities and community services.

Who can join a Community 4‑H Club? 4-H Clubs are for both boys and girls age 8 -18 by September 1st. Youth may join an existing club or start a new club.

What will youth do in a 4-H Club? Youth get to pick their own projects from over 100 project areas. They also have an opportunity for community services and get to exhibit these projects at 4-H shows.

What is a 4-H Independent Member? 4-H Independent Members are boys and girls ages 8 - 18 years old who do not attend monthly meetings but do 4-H projects and exhibit at 4-H shows.

What does it cost to join? 4-H has no required uniform or projects you have to enroll in as a policy. You get to pick for yourself but we do have a yearly program fee. It is $20 for the first three children in a family with a maximum of $60 per family no matter how many children you have enrolled in sustained 4‑H Clubs, Special Interest Groups, 4-H Cloverbud Groups, After-School Programs or 4-H Independent Memberships.

What does the yearly 4-H Program Fee include? 4‑H Clubs, Special Interest Groups, and After-School Programs for 4-H'ers ages 8 - 18 will receive up to 3 project books per year, bi-monthly 4-H Newsletter, and monthly club meetings. 4‑H Independent Members are usually junior or senior high youth who have first been a 4-H Club member and now are not able to attend monthly club meets. They meet with their parent for at least 4 times a year, receive up to 3 project books per year, and bi-monthly 4‑H Newsletter. 4-H Cloverbud Group youth ages 5 - 7 have monthly meetings with at least six cloverbud activities per year and bi-monthly 4‑H Newsletter. All 4-H Fee participants will have community service and award opportunities.
