I missed posting the "Week in my garden" pictures last week. Here are a few that I took today while home at lunch. We are watering almost everyday to keep everything looking lush in this dry heat. We live in the large sandbox of Mason county Illinois, so dry soil is a major problem. Add a drought and we have to water to keep most plants alive. Here are some highlights for me from my lunchtime garden stroll.
-The double purple coneflowers are amazing. They last a very long time, stay upright without staking, and are a vibrant pink mass. Wow!
-Purple basil in the herb garden adds color and texture to the otherwise green bed.
-Green grass!!!! Love it!
-Frog...we feed it Japanese beetles!
-I love caladium
-The mandavilla adds color to the pool area
