Tranquil Garden Mini-Series at Spoon River College in Havana


Spoon River College and University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator Rhonda Ferree are teaming up to offer a Gardening Mini-Series in April at the Havana campus.

In the Tranquil Landscape Series, Rhonda Ferree shared tips for creating tranquil outdoor gardens that are easy to maintain.

On Monday, April 13 from 3-5 p.m. Rhonda will present her "Words of Weed Wisdom" that teach you how to managing weeds in your home garden and landscape. Also covered in this session is "Creating a Shady Garden Respite" where Rhonda discusses shade garden design that is not only beautiful, but also creates a peaceful outdoor respite.

On Monday, April 20 from 3-5 p.m. discover uncomplicated and undemanding ways to develop an attractive landscape that birds, butterflies, and other wildlife will appreciate along with you during "Landscaping for Wildlife". Also covered in this session is "Tea Gardens" which covers several types of plants grown to make tea and discusses tea garden design components that create great spaces to enjoy tea.
