We are going to try something new this year. 4-H members may now lease their animals (beef, sheep, swine, dairy, goats, rabbits & poultry) from their parents or someone else. They no longer need to have the papers in the 4-H'ers name. In the past only members showing horses and dogs were able to lease their animals. Lease forms have been developed and are on the county website under the Peoria County Show category. Lease forms must be filled out and be on file at the Extension Office by May 1. IMPORTANT NOTE: If member plans to show livestock other than horses and dogs at State Fair the animal must be listed in the 4-H'ers name, they cannot be leased. Please contact the Extension Office if you have any questions.
The following is a list of ownership dates for livestock that will be shown at the Peoria County 4-H Show. If you have any questions, please give us a call. Members must be enrolled in livestock by January 3.

The Quality Assurance & Ethics Certification (QAEC) must be taken by every 4-H member that is exhibiting beef, sheep, swine, horse, dairy, meat goats and poultry. This certification is done online. 4-H members are only required to take it once. So if you have done it before you need not do it again. The QAEC website should be available on February 1. We will have this link listed in the next months newsletter and also will have it linked to our website.
