To help promote the Tazewell 4-H Show and Jr. Fair, we have purchased 400 yard signs. Would you help us get them up throughout the county?
You can stop by the office to pick them up. If regular business hours are not good for you to make a trip to Pekin, just give me a call or email and we can brainstorm some ideas on how to get them to you.
Over the years working with the 4-H program, I have heard many stories about getting ready for the 4-H Show. Usually the stories involve high levels of stress, last minute projects, crisis with supplies, and parents having to nag their kids to get them to do their projects.
I would love it is every 4-Her planned ahead and got their projects done weeks before the fair. But I also understand the reality is going to continue to be crazy busy 4-Hers working on projects up till the last minute.
So what I would like to really encourage you is to try and keep it in perspective. Do your best but don't stress. Your relationship with your parents, siblings, grandparents, mentors, etc. are much more important than any blue ribbon. As you are working on your projects, if you feel the stress coming on, take a deep breath, use kind words in kind tones, ask for help and remember the Golden Rule: treat others how you would like to be treated.
I am excited for the upcoming 4-H Show & Jr. Fair. I can't wait to see you and your exhibits and have fun together at all of the events.
