  1. 4 inch soil temp 79.2 degrees F. This is still rather warm for many seeds to germinate. You may need to assist with the process.
  2. Growing Degree Days (GDD):2014 = 2628.0 GDD Average** = 2528.0 GDD
  3. Tomatoes. There are a great deal of "issues" surfacing in our tomato crop given the recent rains and high humidity. The potential list of diseases is extensive, so I wanted to give you a resource to study. Click here for a very useful tomato disease web resource from Cornell University. I refer to the page often.
  4. Fall seeding date for our cool season crops are upon us. Remember the key for fall crops is to get the plant growth before conditions deteriorate late in the fall and maintain the crop through the colder time periods. Click here for our webinar on the topic.
