Inside 4-H Looking Out

What's Happening with 4-H in Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Stark Counties

Having 4-H Fun at the Rock Island Fair

After quite a few of really hot days before and during the fair, it cooled down just a bit.  Many thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers who helped with the general project and livestock exhibits!  Your leadership and time is very much appreciated.  The general project exhibits were under the grandstand with much effort to have the club booths up and looking great in a new location!  They did look really nice and represented 4-H in a wonderful way!  I hope many people were able to see the exhibits while on display!

Lucas Crawford won the Master Showmanship contest and will represent Rock Island County at the state competition on Friday, August 10 at 7:30 p.m.  Sully Frisk will be our representative from Mercer County.

The Stark County 4-H exhibit judging starts this week!  Laughing as I say it is going to "cool down" to 90 degrees!  See you there!

Really Great 4-H Fair in Mercer County

For some reason I don't get a chance to write anything here during the fair - imagine that?  The fair in Mercer County went really well with all of the great volunteer and the Extension staff of Tracy and Erin this year.  I sincerely appreciate the leadership provided in the county. It is so great to see 4-H members who have put in the time and effort with their 4-H projects and exhibits.  When you look back you will see all of the benefits of the hard work and skills you have gained!

Also, you must have something going right because your weather was beautiful and perfect!  Now we'll see how Rock Island fares this year with the record breaking temps of last year still fresh on our minds!  See you in Rock Island!
