University of Illinois Extension, Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Stark counties serves over 50,000 youth and adult residents each year. Through learning partnerships that put knowledge to work, University of Illinois Extension's programs are aimed at making life better, healthier, safer and more profitable for individuals and their communities. We provide non-formal educational programs in four core program areas of agriculture and natural resources, consumer and family sciences, nutrition and wellness, community and economic development, and youth development.

Think Spring! Order geraniums from Rock Island County HCE and support 4-H and Extension programs! Beautiful pink, white, red, salmon, and plum colors are available for $2.00 each. All extension units are taking orders and must be in by March 1st. Send your order and check to HCE Extension treasurer, Joyce Schoening, 3845 - 26th Ave., Rock Island, IL 61201. All orders must be picked up at the R.I. Co. Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 5, between 8-10 AM.

Workshops on Small Farms and Local Foods are offered on Thursdays at 1 pm now through March 26. Topics include Raising Sheep and Goats, Methods for Extending the Growing Season, Managing your Woodland, and more!
